Leaves | Long, dark glossy green above, dull grey underneath, regular triangular lobes each side. Leaves turn deep bronze then brown in autumn. Flowers appear with young leaves. Acorns grow in "mossy cups". |
Planting | Well drained soil, full sun. |
General |
Bark starts black and smooth becoming dark grey and ridged. Fast growth rate makes bark prone to splits. |
