Leaves | Dark green slender leaves with bristle like serrated margins. Flowers male catkins are yellow and pendulous appearing in spring, female catkins appear with leaves. Acorns are oval in shape two thirds covered by scales resembling hair. |
Planting | Prefers moist, acid, well drained soils in full sun. |
General | Attractive large feature tree. Hardy. |
